Types of Membership & Requirements

Ordinary Members are Registered Paramedics and predominantly live or work within the state of Victoria.
- Part-time / Casual employees may apply for reduced fees
- Graduates may request reduced fees while completing their Graduate Program, and/or during the period post-qualification and pre-employment (12 month maximum)
Affiliate Members do not meet the requirement for Ordinary Membership, but perform clinical duties in relation to ambulance services, and predominantly live or work within the state of Victoria, including
- Ambulance Community Officers (ACOs), Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members;
- Ambulance Transport Attendants (ATAs), Patient Transport Officers (PTOs) and Clinic Transport Officers (CTOs);
- Student Paramedics while undertaking a AHPRA (Board of Paramedicine) approved program of study; and,
- other applicants whose duties, employment, or circumstances are deemed by the Committee to be suitably similar in nature.
- Part-time / Casual employees may apply for reduced fees

Associate Members do not meet the requirements for Ordinary or Affiliate Membership, but have been approved for membership based on individual circumstances. These may include:
- Retired Ordinary or Affiliate Members
- Honorary Members
- Life Members
Evidence to support an application may be requested, and may include:

AHPRA Registration Number (Ordinary Membership)
Employment Classification (Affiliate Membership)
Part-time Employment Contract (e.g. FWA contract indicating <38 h/wk on average)
Causal Employment Contract
Graduate commencement and expected completion
Student Enrolment and expected completion
Any other circumstances pertinent to membership

* Annual Fees for Ordinary and Affiliate Membership are only by approval of the Committee

# Long-term Leave / Absence for Ordinary and Affiliate Membership are only by approval of the Committee, and will be considered for periods including Long Service Leave, Parental Leave, or Leave Without Pay
